I've started painting him :

Looks good so far.. But.. I really don't like that sculpt.

yup i dont particularly like the sculpt either, nice start on the base. where did you get the plinth from?

Prince August has a great selection of plinth of all shapes and sizes. A bit costly, but I like their finish.

As far as I know : no. They're planning a new game and will still be producing 2 new minis a month for their other line.

I decided to work again on the fur ball to finish him in time for the Lugdunum convention :

Still not very fond of the sculpt. But I like the colours you've picked! Maybe some more highlights on top of the head to give a better feel for where the light is coming from

Not too fond of the sculpt either, but I like what you did with the face! I agree with Sven that you could "light" it better. Particularly on the mane above his face you should highlight it more.

The top part of the base measures 3cm.

No, I think the armour looks good like that... But maybe you should treat the skin with some coloured glazes to move it further from the armour colour.

Well, I've always thought baboons' bums looked sore, so you can consider it a success!

I think you could have done like on the concept actually - meaning some parts red. It looks rather striking.

Yeah, I'm really hesitating on this, the only worry is it needs to be finished before Saturday and time is getting very short ...

competition? You can try that chipped technique you did on the ork... would probably look cool and mean that you haven't wasted the hours painting NMM.
