Cédric, I saw your post on Wyrd about what you had been shown. I thought maybe there was something you could share in more detail here in this more secluded atmosphere? Cool My lips are sealed, of course... Wink

Of course I won't mention anything about this to anyone outside this group!

It sounds really promising I must say! Is Allan doing all the sculpts or have they got more sculptors in the project?

Isn't it rather expensive to start up a production of plastic minis? If they're too cheap it might back fire... Neutral But let's hope they know what they're doing and that it works out! I'll do my best to support them! Very Happy

Allan and Jérémie will be doing most of them, but there will also be other sculptors. I wonder if Jérôme (executerofhod) is with them or not; wasn't very clear Saturday night, but it would be cool Wink.

Apparently there is a less expensive way of making plastics than what GW uses.

I saw Jérôme's painted Helldorado mini of the blind, old man sitting on the shoulders of a large, guy. Really awesome painting... I sure wouldn't mind seeing him painting these minis as well! Very Happy

I think he got gold or silver in the Master category at Lugdunum. He's a great guy, very nice and open to talk; just don't mention Rackham to him Razz.

He spoke of Wyrd in very nice terms BtW Wink.

What is it with Rackham? They seem to manage to piss people off quite seriously... Neutral

From what I've heard, the concepts, the art, the sculpts, the painting, everything is great ... except the boss Razz.

Basically he knows a lot of people want to work for him so he presses those that do until they cry "Enough!".

Thanks for the info! Very Happy And yes plastics are very expensive. Not what I expected at all... I heard that first Rhino took a couple of years even for the selling to cover the investment. But i guess they might be able to get the sufficent technology from somwhere else. Who will produce them.. that's my question.

Judging from what Cyril has been suggesting on Créafigs (note the part of supposing in the sentence Wink), I'd say a company in Paris. Maybe the same that makes the minis for Tannhäuser.

I'll also add that I had a discussion with people from GBA 2 years ago on the subject of plastics and they said that actually it isn't that expensive if you go see the right people (they were refering to the automobile industrie).

well making the steelmould do costs a fair share of money, though I'm not sure on exact numbers. So they have to be pretty sure that they will sell a lot of miniatures.. I mean GW makes metal miniatures still for a reason.

Maybe they've strucked gold somewhere in a contact with someone.. I don't know I just hink it sounds like a very.. reckless way of starting a new company.

Sven, the production technologie is different than what GW uses, that's why it'll cost less Wink. What it is exactly, I'm not familiar with it, although I heard something about the moulds being softer than metal whereas the automobile solution is metal moulds (but I don't know what quality comes out of that).

If they are softer they might be a bit flexible and maybe allow for some undercuts? Smile

Hm.. well it'll be fun to see what they come up with! Hopefully the technique they employ will make the miniatures justice.

Not knowing if Allan and Jérémie really want this to flood the web, I'll post a few pics taken at the Cannes Games festival here :

Some cool stuff there! That gaming table looks great. It's a bit difficult to say anything about the minis since the photos aren't great and the paintjobs seem to be tabletop quality (pretty good tabletop quality, but not amazing).

I agree that the bases aren't impessive at all, but the paint jobs are probably in the 7.5-8.5 region IMHO.

Good photos of each mini individually would probably show off the paintjobs better. But, I'm really interested in the human minis... they look suitably medeival, pretty much like the Cadwallon militia but without being OTT.

Actually, I don't think those are studio paintjobs. Jérémie tends to hand out minis easily Wink.
